In 2012, the club started a new championship based on some the key events on the local calendar. Proposed and championed by Stu Doyle, the 2012 Endurance League Championship was a great success with fierce competition & rivalry in the league itself but, perhaps most importantly, creating a great team spirit and ensuring good turn outs at the key local races and leagues.
In the first year of the league, the scoring system was based on a runners ranking and then their placing relative to other club runners in the race. After some tinkering, the final scoring system, although more complicated than we had hoped, dealt with some failings that were spotted in the initial version. No handicapping system can be perfect across all distance and terrains but we will continue to try and improve the fairness of the system.
The men's and ladies endurance league championships were completed in December with the final North Staffs XC league match at Leek. The deserved winners of the league were.
