1. It's on Saturday! Avoid annoying distractions like work, family, weekend shopping hell etc. 2. See the countryside and learn about geology! It's amazing how many different types of mud there are in such a small area. 3. Avoid training! It's your call: 10 puke-inducing, traffic-dodging reps in the dark or a lovely afternoon out with tea and cakes afterwards? 4. Improve your sex life! Get home early, make the choice of X Factor or Strictly Come Dancing, then the rest of the evening is all yours.... 5. Get a lie-in on Sunday! What better excuse to dodge the Sunday run than a few small aches and pains from the previous day's race? 6. Make Colin and John happy! No need to explain that one. 7. Win things! If we had a few more decent runners turning out we could do quite well and even get some medals to go with the tea, cakes and beer.

My favourite reasons: 1 Time's are irrelevant! 2 Get to know your rivals and have a race with them each week! 3 Feel part of team effort!
Oh and a bonus one..........listen for the split loyalties in Bernie's voice as you overtake a Wrexham runner!

... and one more for me...
Running off road is much kinder to dodgy achilles and ancient joints.
